Al's Flowers Story

In 1987, Al Cantrell followed his passion for flowers and opened Al’s Flowers. What started with a few floral design courses in Holland quickly blossomed into a lifelong craft. From designing breathtaking arrangements for Montgomery’s grandest weddings to crafting stunning centerpieces for debutante balls, Al’s creativity has touched every corner of the community. Whether it's a small, colorful bouquet or a showstopping display, each arrangement is a reflection of the pride and craftsmanship Al has poured into his work for over 35 years.

Al’s journey has taken him across the globe—from Asia to Amsterdam—working with an international floral design group. But when family called him back to Montgomery, he returned with fresh inspiration and a deep appreciation for the place he calls home. His love for flowers—especially calla lilies, which grace his shop’s sign—comes from personal roots, memories of his grandmother’s rose garden, and a deep connection to the beauty of nature.

When you step onto the porch at Al’s Flowers, you’re immediately welcomed by the warmth of Southern hospitality. The charming wooden porch, with its cute gates that open up to invite you in, is adorned with lush outdoor plants, wreaths, and timeless knick-knacks that make it feel like home. Inside, vibrant blooms fill every corner, creating a space that’s as colorful and lively as Al himself. The shop offers so much more than just flowers: discover stylish custom art, luxurious candles, timeless china, and custom paper with its own story to tell. Whether you’re hunting for a thoughtful gift or a statement piece for your home, there’s always something unexpected to delight in.

At Al’s Flowers, it’s not just about buying flowers—it’s about stepping into a space where warmth, personality, and Southern charm blend seamlessly. Whether you’re looking for a fresh bouquet, a new piece for your home, or a fun gift - Al’s is the place.
